"The FDS has lovingly given us time"
by Crisis of Conscience inboy am i tired of hearing this one.
yes folks, i heard it at the meeting this week...again.
the sm included a local needs part and this was the subject - family worship night.. apparently, regarding fwn, that time was never, nor now is, ours.

@ miseryloveselders - In the past 6 months, I would venture to say that this is about the 3rd time we have a local needs dealing with this. I guess the major problem in the hall, or even sin, is getting people to be regular at this.
Oh yea, and I don't remember when I last studied for a meeting, unless I was assigned to read.

braveheart, Your are absolutely right. LOL Great and easy solution!
I'm working on it. But currently my situation doesn't allow for a change. I was texting earlier during the meeting so I had tuned out. But then this silly nonsense caught my ear. My fault for listening.

Boy am I tired of hearing this one. Yes folks, I heard it at the meeting this week...again. The SM included a local needs part and this was the subject - Family Worship Night.
Apparently, regarding FWN, that time was never, nor now is, ours. As JW's, we are to use that extra night/time now provided/allowed, by the FDS, just for that purpose.
Why, I had no idea that I was incapable of saying and planning what I wanted to do with my time, MY OWN time!! But the FDS has LOVINGLY ALLOWED me to HAVE a night to worship together as a family. They allowed ME this time. Yes that was what was said.
OH BOY!!! THANK YOU!!
Have any of you slackers who are not following this arrangement and are going to die at Armageddon heard the same nonsense? (I'm sure you have because we are all united in true worship. But feel free to talk about it anyway.)

Crisis of Conscience
This is one of the most hilarious threads I've read in a while! So let me offer my contributions.
"Sacred service" - Anything classified with this title screams free labor without the hope of an unemployment check when they are thru with you and/or your job is done - whichever comes first
"Doing it for Jehovah" - Said to guilt you into doing ANYTHING, because it's not being done for men
"Inactive" - You weren't Jesus friend before and following his example, and this confirms it
"Low-hour publisher" - We're watching your numbers and your bringing down the company (congregation) average. How do we get a bonus this year? Oh wait, we don't get paid for this. But we still love to do it!

When Elder's Fade
by zack inas a publisher, still buying the wt line that they were god's sole channel and any problems, doubts, etc... i had were all a product of my own lack of.
wisdom and or humility or failure of application, i would be shocked and puzzled at how long-time elders would resign and then fade away.
i would wonder: what could have happened.

Crisis of Conscience
I'm thankful for threads like this.
Once you've woken up, it helps to confirm that your feelings about the BS that happens behind the average publishers back are true. NO HOLY SPIRIT involved.
If only others could read and believe. But that damn Satan keeps blinding them! LOL

Wow! I feel I am sort of in the same position you are. I stopped pioneering early this year but as of yet have not resigned as a MS. Not sure what I'm waiting for. I too became curious of why so called apostates felt the way they did. What was/is the WTS trying to hide? I haven't commented either since about May, not once. And I have been missing meetings a lot, which I rarely ever did. I am currently also reading "other" things, books exposing the WTS.
As far as my wife, she has actually become somewhat receptive recently.
I'm also a people person so it makes it difficult to just completely walk away. But a fade sounds good to me. And I could see myself making friends just fine with "wordly" people, as I get along well with pretty much everyone.
And yes, I believe that the "holy spirit" guides the brothers to make too many mistakes. It doesn't make sense.
Anyway, WELCOME!!
My advice: BE PATIENT. Read as many posts as possible regarding how people deal with their believing mates and the outcome. There are no guarantees, but it can help you to formulate a plan.
I wish you the best in your struggle.

Crisis of Conscience
Welcome Red Piller!
Pay close attention to the advice you get on this site. Especially that regarding patience. Every outcome is different.
But I know in my case, once I started to come across more calmly in my feelings, my wife's demeanor changed. She has actually softened her stance. Not that she was hardcore, but she did not want to listen to anything negative about the org at first.
Now she actually admitted that she gives thought to what I say and does not want to be a blind follower. She is interested in examining her beliefs a little closer. I'm hopeful - but again, every outcome is different.
I wish you the best. And be patient, please. Especially if your wife is not full out condemning you, or regardless.

Welcome!! And thanks for listing the examples that only "apostates" could make up! LOL
It's not surprising that you saw the things you did over the years. The WTS would have us to believe that most of those things would never happen since keeping busy in the work helps you to stay focused. But those who are Awake! (no copywright infringement intended, LOL) know better.
Looking forward to reading more from you. Enjoy your time here!!
